Until recently, the kids of the Al Sammak family did not even have proper flooring. Now that they have redone the floors, it would be still some more time before they could afford new furniture for the three kids sharing the room. Heartbroken to see his kids sleep on mattresses on the floor, Mohammed Al Samak entered the contest wishing for a furnished room for his children.
The Home Centre team set out with the task of redoing the small room to make comfortable space for the three kids – two little girls and an adolescent boy. While the family did not have a style preference they requested for a colourful room fit for growing minds.
The room was split into two distinct zones, one for the boy with shades of grey and deep plum and the other for the two little girls in shades of lavender and pink. Dark wood furniture from our Boston collection (with a bed, nightstand, 2-door wardrobe and corner study desk), and Jaison bunk bed was selected to complement the colour palettes and making the room work for both genders. The girls corner was dressed with Moxie Girls comforter set; Roi and Fiona filled cushions; Robel floor cushions, Pink Poppy wall decorations, Pink hearts wall art, Juncy table lamp and purple Fuzzy rug. The Evreux comforter set was used for the boy’s bed and the study corner decorated with Chicago shelves; Orient wall clock, Belmont pots and artificial roses; cup-and-saucer shaped planter pots; Lombok, Roxette and Stella photo framesamong other interesting accessories.
